Word Press – Canvas theme custom settings

If you have the Canvas theme installed, when adding a new Page or a new Post, there’s a section at the bottom with some custom settings. Here’s a brief overview of some you might need to use:-

  • IMAGE – if you’re using one of the features (ie: the business slider) that shows an advertising image for your page/article, you upload it here.
  • LAYOUT – useful if you want to override the standard page format – mostly used for creating a full-width page. By clicking on any of the layout diagrams, your new Page/Post will shed the columns holding your widgets and/or navigation.
  • URL – if you’re using the business slider, you can get the image to link to a page.
  • EMBED – used for embedding video code. Ask us for more specific details
  • SEO – Remove Nofollow - by default, search engines don’t follow the links on these pages, place a tick in the box to allow them to.
  • SEO – Custom Description - this helps with your search engine rankings and usually is what’s displayed on the Google search results page.
  • SEO – Custom Keywords - this helps your search engine rankings too, but to be honest, most search engines ignore keywords these days.
