Word Press allows you to upload files for people to download. Typically, you’ll have the link attached to words (ie: CLICK HERE to download this file).
Remember, your hosting space has a limited capacity & bandwidth, so don’t upload massive files that will be downloaded excessively. Also remember that if you upload a Microsoft Word file, only those who own Microsoft Word can open and read it at the other end. PDF files are a good alternative.
- Place the cursor where you want your file upload to go, then click on the ADD MEDIA icon.

- From the Add Media popup box that now appears, make sure you’re on the FROM COMPUTER tab, and click on the SELECT FILES button.

- Find the file you want to upload on your computer, then click OPEN. Note the maximum file size you can upload is 2mb
- There are now a couple of settings for the uploaded file you are able to set by hand before inserting it in to your post.

- Title – this will be the text that your file is linked from. ie: CLICK HERE.
- Caption (optional) – a caption that can display on some themes but not for all.
- Description (optional) – a caption that can display on some themes but not for all.
- Link URL - leave this alone. It’s already set to the File URL for the file you just uploaded.
- Click INSERT INTO POST
