Once you understand the concept of what Widgets are in Word Press, you’ll find out how versatile they are and how flexible it makes the software. The idea behind the widgets is that there are many features in Word Press, but not everyone wants to use them all.
Some of these widgets include (but are not limited to):-
- the search box
- the navigation
- links
- comments left on posts
- tag clouds
- twitter streams
- archives
- ….and many other custom designed widget that live within specific Word Press themes.
Each Word Press template has certain areas where you can ‘drag and drop’ widgets in. The location varies between themes. The Widgets system is set up in such a way as to allow the user to add & remove Widgets without the need to use web design skills.
Read the specific tutorials on each Widget.
