contribute tutorials - changing text

This tutorial requires you to have a working knowledge of a program like Microsoft Word.

  1. Before you can edit a web page, you need to log on, then surf to the page you want to change (just like you do when you're using a normal browser like Internet Explorer)
  2. Once you're on the page you want to change, click the Edit Page icon.
  3. You are now in edit mode. You will notice that you do not have access to the entire page, just what's inside the blue boxes. You only have access to the editable regions of the website, and as such, cannot destroy the integrity of the overall structure of the website.
  4. Make your changes to the text as necessary and then click the Publish button. To make formatting changes to the text, read the sub-tutorials below.

changing the font size or colour

Your website has been designed with integrity to your current marketing & colours and fonts and styles have been chosen to give your website a professional image. We strongly suggest you don't corrupt this. Your website has been designed with a stylesheet - meaning that all the different sizes and colours of fonts we have used are already pre-defined. If you want to change the size or colour of a font, you can acces these pre-defined styles using the toolbar.

  1. Just underneath the Publish button, there are some drop down boxes. The first one is the pre-defined stylesheet list.
  2. Highlight the text you want to change.
  3. Choose your new font size/colour from this list.

If you want to change your text to something that's not in the pre-defined stylesheet list, you can use the next drop down box to change the font. You are limited to a small selection of standard fonts that are known to be installed on all computers. The rest of the tools in the tool bar work just like they do in Microsoft Word.
