ftp using filezilla
Sometimes there's a need for clients to upload files to the server. If you're one of them, you can use the web-based file manager, or for larger volumes, you can use a free program called Filezilla to make the job easier.
- Download and install FileZilla on to your PC - http://filezilla-project.org (choose the Download FileZilla Client button)
- Login (ask us for the details to log in to your account)
OPTION 1 - for one off logins.
- HOST = ftp.yourdomainname.com.au
- USERNAME = your username
- PASSWORD = your password
Click QUICK CONNECT
OPTION 2 - for when you'll be doing it more than once.
FILE > SITE MANAGER > NEW SITE.
Type in the HOST name, set logon type to NORMAL, type in the USERNAME & PASSWORD and click CONNECT.
Next time you log in, the site manager will already have your details stored.
- FYI - Once logged in the left side of the screen - LOCAL SITE - is the files on your own computer.
The right hand side - REMOTE SITE - are the files on our server.
- ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE - locate the folder on your own computer where the files are located. This works just like Windows Explorer.
- ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE - open the folder where you want to upload the files. Please ask us what this folder is called, it will be different depending on what you're uploading and for what purpose.
- TO UPLOAD FILES - simply select all the files you want from the left side of the screen and drag them over to the right hand side. If you're dragging over a file that already exists on the server, you will be given the opportunity to overwrite the existing file or skip the process.
