word press tutorials - embed youtube video in to a post

First things first, this feature is an add-on to Word Press and you'll need to ask me to install the plugin before you can do this. There's more than one plug in available, and depending on which one I installed, you'll need to choose the appropriate one.You can either ask me or check the Plugin section of your Word Press admin.

TUTORIAL 1

  1. While in 'write post' or 'manage post' mode, you should be typing your information on the VISUAL tab. This is where you have the tool bar to bold, italic etc. like in Microsoft Word.
  2. Before you can embed the YouTube video you need to click on the CODE tab.
  3. On a fresh line, type in [youtube 1234567890] where 1234567890 is the code number of your YouTube video.
(If you can't figure out the number, sniff through the code you get from YouTube and you'll see something like
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VHVSY7bcih4" - I have made the code bold & gold for you!

TUTORIAL 2 - Smart Youtube

This one's really simple to use, when you put the URL in from YouTube, you just need to stick one extra character in. While the normal URL for a YouTube video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=123456789, to use this plug in, you need to add a v after the http, so the URL becomes httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=123456789
