x-cart ~ webmaster mode - change text on homepage & change the language/labels used through the website
x-cart is an incredibly flexible piece of software. You can easily log in and change any number of variables. Not only can you change the text that's the top paragraph on the front page of the website, but you can also change a large number of variables. For example, your menu has the heading 'Categories' set as default. You can change this to say 'Products' or anything you like. If there are sections that appear that you don't want, please let us know and we will remove them from the template.
Please note, any area where you see the WYSIWYG editor, we can custom design this for you in HTML and upload it for you.
- Click on the Webmaster Mode link in the Administration section. Click on the Start Webmaster Mode button.
- Click on the Open customer area in a new window link (just above the Close Webmaster Mode button)
Once you have done this, your shop will open up in a new window. It will look slightly different though. Anything that's green & bold (ie: all the labels on the website - headings in boxes etc) you can change, along with the paragraph of text at the top of the page. Sometimes when you click on the green & bold links, you will actually be taken to another page on the site, where there will be a whole range of other things you can change. You can customise the language through the entire website to suit your needs by using the webmaster mode. Surf through the whole website in Webmaster Mode to customise the language to suit your needs.
- To change any of the green & bold headings or the paragraph of text at the top, simply click on them (one at a time of course).
- Once you click on them a small window will pop up. In the value box, type in what you'd like it to say, then click Preview to take a look first (if you click Preview, the change will be instantly made) then click Save to save it straight away.
- Once you have finished, please ensure you log out of Webmaster Mode. Go back to the original window where you turned the feature on. Click the Close Webmaster Mode button.
