x-cart ~ clone a product

If you have products that are very similar, sometimes it's easier to clone another one and make minor changes to it.

(This particular tutorial was originally written for a winery who have bottles of wine listed per bottle. When they near the end of the run, the same wine gets sold at a discount per dozen. It's much quicker to just clone the product, change the price & the weight, than it is to create a whole new product. You might have a different application for it).

1. Search for the product you want to clone.
2. Once you have your search results, place a tick in the box of the item you wish to clone and click the Clone Product button.
3. You now have a perfect clone of your product.

5. Note: if this product has product options or wholesale pricing options set up, these need to be altered as well.
