x-cart ~ editing the contact us form

In the HELP section of your website, there's already a Contact Us page listed. Depending on how your store is customised, it is also linked to from the top right hand corner of every page. This page is completely editable by you.

To change the form

1. Click on General Settings
2. Click on Contact Form options
3. You will see there are a list of predefined questions/information to ask. Each one has two check boxes aligned with it. One checkbox for active (meaning, do you want to ask your customers for this information) and required (which forces people to fill in that option). Check or un-check the boxes accordingly.
4. Click Save

If there are additional pieces of information you'd like to ask on the form, it can be done in the additional fields section.

1. Under the Add new field heading, type the name of the question you'd like to ask.
2. Use the drop down box to decide whether you want people to just type in plain text (text), tick a box to indicate yes to this option (checkbox) or have people choose from a pre-defined list of answers (select box). If you choose select box, type your different pre-defined options in the box provided and seperate them with a ;
3. Click Add/Update
4. Go back up to the top half of the page and put the relevant ticks in the checkboxes as per step 3 above.
5. Click Save

Note: The fields 'Subject' & 'Message' are automatically on the form and cannot be changed.

To change the text above the form

Use the Webmaster Mode tutorial. At step 2, click on the Contact Us link to be taken to the Contact Us page.
