x-cart ~ adding a featured product to a category

Each category (and the main page) allows you to add one or more featured products to it. They are displayed in the Featured Products box on your category page.

To add Featured Products to the front page of your store

1. Click on Categories in the Management section of the menu (it's the 2nd one - yours may say something else if your shop's category heading hase been renamed)
2. Under the Add product heading, click the Browse button. A pop up window will now appear.
3. You will now see a selection of your categories. Click on a category on the left then click the Show Products button to see a list of what's in that category on the right hand side.
4. Click on the product name that you wish to choose as your featured product, then click on the Select button.
5. The pop up window is now gone and the new product you chose is now listed in the box next to the Browse button.
   In the POS column, assign your new featured product a number, depending on what order you want it listed. 1 for first position, 2 for second position and so on.
6. Click the Add New button to complete the process

To add Featured Products to category pages of your store

Note: you can only put featured products in categories that have no products listed (just sub-categories). If you want a featured product listed in a category that has products in it, I can do it as a custom modification - please ask me for a quote.
