x-cart ~ customer orders

Once a customer places an order, you'll receive an email. The information will also be stored in the shop's database.

  1. To gain access to the orders section, click Orders in the Management section of the admin navigation .
  2. In the Search For Orders section, use the various search features to find your order. The advanced section has the option searching by order number, which would have been on the email you received.
  3. To View Your Order, click on the order number in the # column.
  4. From this screen you can
    - view the order on screen
    - print a copy of the order
    - print a copy of the invoice to place with the order
  5. IMPORTANT NOTE IF YOU'RE PROCESSING OFFLINE CREDIT CARD TRANSATIONS - about 2/3 down the screen there's a box that's greyed out that says Order Details. It will contain the credit card information that was put in when the order was placed.
Click on Edit Mode, and CUT & PASTE the details from this screen to a file saved on your computer, then click Apply Changes at the bottom of the screen to save your changes. You must make sure the information is deleted and is not stored in the database for any length of time. I have set this option up for you on the strict understanding that you will immediately delete these credit card details from the server when the orders come in. If you don't, you'll get 1 warning. After that, I will disable the feature on your store. Under no circumstances are credit card numbers to be stored on our server long term.
  6. To change the status of your order (so you can easily see where you're up to with each order), read the tutorial specifically for this.
